Enabling Process Technologies Ltd
Lead partner for FORTRESS-Na, responsible for project coordination, system integration, electrical architecture, monitoring and control systems.
Enabling Process Technologies Ltd
Enabling Process Technologies Ltd is a specialist engineering and systems integration consultancy with experience across aerospace, automotive, healthcare, defence, manufacturing, education, and research and development.
The company brings together people, processes, products, and technology to solve complex operational and engineering challenges through practical, integrated solutions.
EPT has more than twenty years of experience managing and contributing to UK and European government-funded research and development programmes. This experience also strengthens its ability to lead complex collaborative projects.
As lead partner for FORTRESS-Na, EPT is responsible for project coordination and system integration. It also leads the electrical architecture, monitoring and control systems. This brings the different areas of specialist expertise together into one coherent residential energy storage platform.
EPT’s role in FORTRESS-Na
Enabling Process Technologies Ltd leads the FORTRESS-Na project and coordinates the work across the wider team.
Its role includes project management, electrical architecture, monitoring and control systems, and the integration of the different technical elements into one coherent residential energy storage platform.
EPT also provides the structure needed to keep the project aligned across technical delivery, reporting, risk management, and future commercial development.
Within FORTRESS-Na, EPT will help define how the proposed sodium-ion battery system should operate within UK homes. This includes bringing together the battery cells, pack design, thermal management, sensing, monitoring, and control systems.
Experience in collaborative innovation
EPT has worked across several Innovate UK battery projects. This has built its experience in modular battery systems, sensor architecture, control systems and state-of-health monitoring.
That background gives the company a strong foundation for leading the project. It brings together battery chemistry, engineering, safety analysis and commercial feasibility.
EPT’s systems integration role is central to FORTRESS-Na. The project depends on each organisation’s expertise working together as one complete system rather than as separate technical elements.
Supporting the next stage of development
The FORTRESS-Na feasibility study will help determine whether the proposed residential sodium-ion battery platform can move towards prototype development, pilot deployment, and future UK manufacture.
Enabling Process Technologies Ltd will play a key role in turning the findings from across the project into a clear technical and commercial pathway for what comes next
