Background and Career Journey

Lisa Harrison-Smith brings a people-first approach to engineering innovation through her work with Enabling Process Technologies Ltd (EPT).

With more than 20 years of experience in the NHS, Lisa built her career in high-pressure environments. She coordinated care packages, led multidisciplinary teams, and delivered projects from start to finish. That background gave her a strong foundation in structured thinking, clear communication, and calm leadership. All of these skills now support her work across complex engineering and innovation programmes.

At Global Solutions, Lisa supports the coordination of international Innovate UK-funded R&D programmes. These include Project GANESHA in Nepal and Project HAECHI in South Korea.

Both programmes focus on sustainable technologies. This includes EV rickshaws, residential energy systems, advanced sensor integration, battery management systems (BMS), and control technologies.

Working across cultures, disciplines, and time zones, Lisa helps manage workstreams and reporting. She also coordinates communication between technical teams, global partners, and funding bodies.

Lisa is particularly committed to inclusive collaboration and people-centred delivery. She supports mentoring, encourages strong cross-team communication, and helps embed GEDSI principles within project planning and implementation.

Her cross-sector experience enables her to translate complex technical activity into clear, structured outcomes. As a result, her work supports innovation with both clarity and purpose.

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys the peace and perspective of the countryside. She spends much of her time walking in the hills, riding, and working hands-on on a smallholding.

She also has a love of theatre and musicals, balancing outdoor life with an appreciation for performance and storytelling.
